"Very Good"

7.0

Breakfast, served to good standard, with good options. Lovely staff. Lovely animals. Extra bedding.

Needs some TLC and updates. Furnishings are dated. Finishing of decoration not great. Window coverings gappy. Tea bags, not good standard english breakfast tea. Biscuits low quality too. Squeaky floorboards. Scared we might upset other residents. There was a huge pool of water in the drive to get through, which should be dealt with.

"Lovely hotel but not very accommodating"

7.0

Very spacious, lovely scenery and lots of lovely animals around the hotel.

Staff were not accommodating. Breakfast and dinner times are very strict. The chefs disappear as soon as time is over. Missed breakfast by five minutes and you go hungry. Breakfast times change without proper updates to guests. Missed breakfast twice.

"Great setting"

7.0

The location of Irton Hall is excellent. Love the animals. The setting is quiet. Food and service at partner pub Bridge Inn just down the road is excellent. Convenient for Wasdale and Scarfell Pike. Recommend Sawmill cafe en route to Wasdale.

Seem a bit short staffed at front of house. Cottage a bit dated and beds could be more comfortable. Floor-boards very noisy.

"Overall great stay."

8.0

Great location, with beautiful grounds. Delicious breakfast. Staff very helpful. It was a great location for exploring the local area and then driving over to climb Scafell pike from waswater.

Needs a little bit of a spruce up in places. Some paint was coming off the walls in the room. There were also chips on the plug of the bath that looked like dirt. But overall it felt clean, and a great place to stay!

"Exceptional"

10.0

Everything about the hotel was amazing, the cottage was clean and well maintained. Beautiful views and view from balcony into the woods was lovely, wildlife running free was nice to see. The hotel manager and his family were all super friendly and welcomed us and our dog. Definitely recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a quiet getaway or dig friendly get away. Thank you to the staff for making our break enjoyable. We will see you all again soon. Sarah, Aaron, Olivia and Mollie.

"Won’t stay again, I’ll go to the Inn in Gosforth again next time."

6.0

Expensive and no better than the place half the price we stay in the night before

The bathroom was filthy. All along the bottom of re sink was dirty and the bath may was black underneath! Also they didn’t do a very good vegan breakfast for my husband despite me letting them know in advance. In this day and age that is not acceptable from somewhere charging £130 per night.
