We were walking the Grand Union Canal Walk so it was great to stay somewhere right on the canal

The room was very nicely decorated and clean. Good shower and, the food, when it finally arrived, was very tasty. Slept pretty well, although the bed was a little too firm for our preference.

It took ages to be greeted at reception, we were then given the wrong information about breakfast times so when we arrived for breakfast on our second morning there was no one there. Each day we wanted to be out as early as possible and with the later breakfast time, it wouldn't have been an issue, however it took over half an hour for us to receive our food every morning! Even with ordering first and there being only about 6 people in the dining room in total! We chose to dine in one night and it took ages to be offered any drinks and when we finally ordered it took nearly an hour for our food to arrive. We had intended to dine in on two nights but after that experience we made sure we went somewhere else. Considering this is not a cheap place to stay and the food was also quite pricey, we were pretty disappointed about our stay overall.

Pleasant canal side location with friendly staff. Ample parking at the rear of the property. Well appointed en suite room with comfortable bed at a reasonable price. Good choice and value for money breakfast options with food cooked to order.

Large newly decorated room with a huge shower room, an ironing board, iron and a fan - fantastic

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like other than unable to get kettle under tap to fill it with water
