"Great value and fabulous location on the Firth of Forth."

8.0

I found the Stag Head Hotel to be a nice surprise. It was half the price of hotels in or around Edinburgh. From the description on the website it sounded like it would be a bit dodgy with warnings about noise from the pub downstairs but it exceeded my expectations! The hotel is right on the main street of the pleasant little village of Queensferry, right on the Firth of Forth. I found it quiet and easy to access my room, which was on the second floor. My window overlooked the bakery next door which was an excellent place to have breakfast. The room had twin beds and was very clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom ensuite. I didn't eat there but the pub downstairs was cozy with friendly staff and locals. Its also super easy to get to the airport from there on the bus or by car since you can bypass downtown Edinburgh.

Really can't think of anything.

Location suited

Price, lack of staff support and knowledge, mould in the bathroom, rough towels, the list goes on

"Cosy seaside hotel"

10.0

Great location, beautiful little seaside town with very scenic coastline, nice beaches, carpark located right across the street from the policestation next to it. bus stop right across the street that only took 35-40 mins to get to Edinburgh. Supermarket, restaurants, bars and souvenir shops within 100 yards and a very short walk to ferry tours of the islands and coastline. Cosy cottage feel and comfortable bed. Great value for money, especially compared to staying in edinburghs loud expensive hotels. Tv in bedroom with freeview. Pub on the bottom floor. Staff were friendly, easy going and welcoming and the local people seemed friendly too. A great place for a relaxed, comfortable and quiet stay

It's honestly difficult to find anything I didn't like but if I was nitpicking there was the tiniest background noise of the bar next doors music and air conditioning up until about 11pm but it was drowned out by the sound of the waves on the beach and really wasnt noticeable. I also had the window open the entire time to listen to the waves so closing it would have absolutely blocked that out anyway so I wouldn't say it was a negative tbh as it was at a completely reasonable level. The single room I had was quite small but more than comfortable for a single person and as expected for a 300 year old cottage style hotel

Loved the ambiance of an old seaside inn.

Would have liked a shower. Room was clean and comfortable in historic surroundings.
