Ramsey Park Hotel

My sister-in-law stayed there for a week, and the hotel was kind enough to provide her with a room with a great sea view. Checking-in was easy, the staff was very helpful, WiFi worked well, and the location is great, right by the sea front and in walking distance to town. Also the hotel has ample parking spaces.

The overall impression of the hotel was ... a bit tired. It looks like it is used much, but not invested in properly. I noticed sofas with old, sticky cushions and ripped fabrics, the bathrooms reminded me of a much cheaper British hotel chain, including some black spots in the silicone, and when I sat on the mattress, I could feel the springs, one by one. The breakfast room was just an undecorated big space and not at all welcoming. None of that is the staffs' fault - I rather had the impression that the owners are keen to squeeze as much out of the place as possible, without regards for their clientele. Which is quite a pity, because the location, the clients and the staff deserve better.

If I really had to pick something it would be a simple fix. The continental breakfast is open and there were flies around. Some small table fans would easily solve.

The staff were excellent and keen to learn. Rooms were comfortable although we were initially given a twin room, where we had ordered a double.

Put on the 3rd floor and the lift out of service. You'll probably hear this a lot as a lot of grumbling amongst the visitors was going on.! Didn't help the torn ligaments in my foot.! Broken coffee machines (both) for breakfast and no bread for the toasters until prompted.
