"Excellent breakfast, great size of room."

9.0

Room size was great, breakfast was excellent and location was very good.

Our room (the terrace) had an air con unit right below the outside window and since it was very hot that was quite disruptive throughout the night.

"Beautiful Manor House"

9.0

Beautiful property. Looked after with our bikes secured safely. Lovely room, just too hot would you believe, not the hotels fault though during a heatwave! We were provided with a fan which helped. Breakfast was lovely. Amanda was hilarious. A fab stay on our cycle route. Evening meal very well cooked and presented.

They made us wait till 3pm to check in. We were on bikes and desperate for a shower. We waited with a drink in the beautiful grounds but would have liked access to our room sooner

"One of our favourite places to stay."

9.0

The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Our dog was also made to feel really welcome.

I thought the extra cost for our dog was quite expensive at ÂŁ30. It the highest we have ever paid, including previous trips to Marshall Meadows.

"All in all, I found the place a bit "all fur coat and no knickers"."

6.0

Could do better! We arrived around 2pm & were told to wait for the 3pm check-in and "I'll be sure to come and find you when it's ready". 3.30pm and nobody arrived so we went back and checked in. Bit of a trek to the stable suite booked, but that was fine. Suite was lovely and large with a private outside space. However.... the window in the bathroom wouldn't open and is obviously in need of attention, for such a big room, the toilet was teeny tiny. The mirror was obviously fitted by a man as my 5ft 6in height managed to see from my nose up only. Towels & eco pots for ablutions but... and it's a biggie for me... NO FLANNEL! It was the June heatwave and the radiator in the lounge area wouldn't turn down or off. The skirtings needed painting. The drinks plastic pod thing had a Nespresso (Lovely) and a kettle but only space for 3 annoying milk carton things. There was a fridge with complimentary refreshments, could have put some proper milk in there! Outside space lovely and private, with a hot tub (yes, this was supposed to be the luxury night at the end of the holiday). Couldn't sit at the table as it and the chairs were covered in dead midges. Hot tub decided it wasn't going to work so had to call reception for someone to fix it... they switched it off & on... it worked.. pressed a button and it stopped.... rinse & repeat! Disappointing. Dinner.... fabulous menu, fabulous food. Didn't manage a Daiquiri so after waiting a long while, swapped it to a mojito... OK. Dessert: waited 40 minutes, cancelled it, went outside for a coffee & a sit & then 20 minutes later dessert arrived! In fairness, it too was delicious and we weren't charged for it, but still. All in all, I found the place a bit "all fur coat and no knickers". Could be so much better with just a bit of joined up thinking and a wee tweak to the staff competence and customer comms.

See above. The food was fabulous. The staff were friendly but...!

"Great hotel , nice rooms , good food and great staff , best breakfast ever"

9.0

The reception staff were excellent and as there were people in our party with mobility issues even took luggage to the rooms and placed seats on the stair area for resting. The room was spacious and nicely decorated , though some aspects are looking tired. The views from the hotel were lovely either out to sea or rolling countryside. The food in the restaurant was excellent both for the evening meal and at breakfast , which has to be one of the best I have had

Downside was the mobility issues with the stairs which I appreciate is due to the age and type of the building. But the staff did everything they could to mitigate those. Luckily we had some mobility so were able with help to negotiate the stairs
