Quiet stay near the river/lake, nice food (different preparation each day), great tours with nice guides.

The (bath)room was a bit smelly, but as you are in the middle of the jungle, don’t expect any luxury. The staff pays attention to the premises, but we felt the whole was a bit ran down and could need some freshening up.

Wonderful retreat overlooking the Amazon at a spot where the dolphins and birds congregate to feed. As comfortable as one can get off grid in the Amazon, and the hosts and guides are welcoming and super helpful.

We recommend at a minimum rudimentary Spanish.

Carlos and his mother, Zoraida, are very helpful and provide well-informed candid advice to travelers. Staying there is more than just a nice accommodation but also logistical and practical support to explore the surrounding area.

Really not any complaints. We were happy the pool was clean and it was so nice to cool off, but it needs to have strong chemical to keep it clean, so we were glad we had swim goggles to protect our eyes.

Amazing stay, my friend and I are naturalists and the forest around here has plenty of good birds (especially down the road) and other wildlife. We were mostly independent, but did a morning of watching dolphins. Other guests did more walks and such, though. Hosts were also very helpful with arranging boat logistics and everything else.

The staff was helpful and nice, the place is well kept and clean. Try the fish they cook its amazing 😋

Great location. Right on the river so great for viewing dolphins and birds. Close to the lake and kayaks are available for a reasonable fee. The property is also within close walking distance to town. About 20 minutes. The grounds are amazing. The pool is great for cooling off after activities and the tower provides an extra viewing experience. The rooms and shared bathrooms are kept super clean. There is a range of sleeping options to choose from. The food is good and everyone who works there is super nice. It's very convenient as Carlos will organize boat transfers and activities. Wifi is available throughout the main living space. Loved the experience.

Simple but comfortable stay outside of town. Carlos was very helpful in arranging excursions but also in helping with booking the boat from Leticia. Great to have a pool to cool down after a long hike.

The lock on the female bathroom didn’t work so the cleaning lady walked in on me half naked.

Location is amazing, our of the city with so much to see and do. Whole Refugio team is awesome. Host reserved boats to and from Leticia, as well as organized tours for a reasonable price. Power was typically only on for certain times of the day, you’re deep in the Amazon, what do you expect? Bug nets above bed were in good condition. Everything was kept very clean and organized the whole time.

Bed was hard. Water was sometimes difficult to come by, but always available if you asked.
