Eware Refugio Amazonico

The owners are lovely and Carlos speaks English which is both very rare for that part of the world and very helpful for those that don't speak Spanish. The location is amazingly beautiful. Swimming pool is awesome and accommodation is great and excellent value for money.

There is nothing I didn't like that could be changed by the owners, the two things that are worth mentioning (out of the owners control) are the lack of air-con in the rooms (they have fans which are adequate but it is still hot for those not accustomed to this part of the world, note that the resort does not run on mains power so air-con is not an option. This is the case for most places in the area). The only other thing is the lack of wildlife in the Colombian forests. They have all been hunted out so don't expect to see anything in terms of animals. The trip to the Peruvian side to see sloths etc is amazing, River dolphins are plentiful and the bird life is brilliant.

Really good communication (English!). Genuine helpful staff. Good basic food. Great swimming pool to relax after the great Amazon activities.

The perfect spot. Away from the noise and busy aspects of both Leticia and Puerto Nariño. Very beautiful grounds and loved to wake up to nature. Meals are simple but fresh and nutritious. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. A pool in the Amazon is incredible Excellent tours offered at fair prices. I especially recommend the walk and sloth sighting tour in San Antonio as well as the fishing and swimming in the Amazon tour. Even though Carlos was on vacation during most of our visit, he was very helpful for our planning.

This is not a fault of Eware but there were some international tourists who were quite loud in the mornings (5-6am) and would smoke cigarettes right outside our room. Perhaps, they could mention there should be quiet hours and ask people to smoke a little further away as there are no windows and only screens.

Beautifully located, immersed in nature, lots of birds singing in the morning. Carlos and the staff were always helpful and smiling. He gave us great tips to explore Puerto Nariño and there are plenty of activities and tours you can choose from, working closely with local communities. You can easily walk to Puerto Nariño (35mins walk, until 8pm). The swimming pool was also a big plus considering how hot it can get! We had a great stay and would recommend it!

Beautiful lodge outside of Puerto Nariño, accessed by boat or a walk through the jungle. Lovely gardens, watch tower, pool. Food is delicious. Tours arranged by Carlos and the guides were brilliant. Reasonably priced for everything. Have recommended to friends.

Nothing - it was perfect. The water in the shared bathrooms sometimes didn’t work.

Eware is an OASIS in the Amazon. The staff is amazing. The food is delicious. Incomparable experience.

It is a 3km walk to town which on some days is a bit far after lots of hiking. I would have appreciated a boat transfer available back to the hotel on the nights I wanted to visit town. Currently it is available at a cost of 20 pesos and needs to be organised earlier in the day.

Eware is an amazing place! We loved the pool, the animals and the location. Carlos was super helpful and the tours were amazing too. I can 100% recommend this place!

We stayed 4 nights, it would have been nice if they offered to clean the room during our stay.
