Chequers Country Inn

Great location for me, only 5minutes to the purpose of the trip

I wasn't aware that they were not providing a dinner option that evening and I wasn't aware that breakfast wasn't included. The bitter hand run out and there wasn't anyone there able to change the barrel.

Good looking

No food , very hot ,room over main road, shower leaking over floor.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The country inn is just exactly that. No airs or graces, just nice and comfortable. Breakfast isn't available, but that was clear when booking, so not a problem

Warm welcome, nice to have a separate entrance. Helpful manageress who was able to resolve issues from my first night. Lovely second night which I would rate very good. First night not so good.

My first room had no heating or hot water for a shower due to an undiscovered fault with boiler in that part of the hotel.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. As a solo lady, I was a bit nervous of staying in a pub. But was put at ease before I even walked through the door.

Lots of steps to room. Only tripped up 1, so well done me. 😆
