Quiet

No food available even though it was advertised as doing food all day.

Good location, spacious room, excellent high pressure shower.

Fixtures were grubby and in need of a good clean.

The hotel seemed to be good overall, i liked the quaint style

The facia around the shower base seemed to be colasped, the tv could do with being a little larger,

The Chequers Inn provided a basic place to rest your head, that was decent value for money.

There were cobwebs on both lampshades, and stained carpet however the rest of the room was pretty clean. TV didn’t work, although wasn’t too bothered. The function room was right below our room so very loud one night when an event was on until about 23:30. The room overall was quite basic.

Room not cleaned properly. Bits all over bedroom and bathroom floor. Bedside cabinets dusty (see picture).

Great location. Lots to see and do in the area. Bed was fine and slept OK once the noise stopped, 1.15 in the morning.

No tv remote, replacement one didn't work either. Dusty skirting boards in bathroom, bathroom bin lid very grubby. No one had cleaned behind the door for a while. Stairs up to room very difficult, irregular heights. No desk light and central light didn't light up desk area. Generally felt little thought gone into setting up the room.

Depending on which room you are in the noise from the bar below you can be intrusive at night. Just to be aware they don’t serve food on Monday and Tuesday but the Swan nearby does and the food is good.
