San Jose de Puembo Quito Airport, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The staff is exceptional and the hotel is beautiful and comfortable. We had a very early flight but the staff already had the fruit, coffee, bread, and a lot of other food items available for us. The hotel transfers to and from the airport were a major convenience. We highly recommend San Jose de Puembo!

Lovely place that I've stayed at many times. The grounds are amazing and the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

The Jacuzzi and Steam Room were not working when I tried them. Hopefully they were under maintenance.

Pedí ayuda por lo del termostato. La noche anterior no pude dormir x el calor. Me ofrecieron un ventilador que lo llevaron después de horas. Ya estábamos dormidos.

We stayed in this hotel twice — on our way to and from the Galapagos. Both stays were great. We loved the complimentary airport pickup and airport dropoff, we used the gym on both occasions and the pool area. The animals on the property are adorable!!! Baby llama, baby ducklings and two cuddly cats. Also their breakfast buffet was the best we had in the entire 3 week vacation. Their restaurant serves delicious food as well. We loved the shrimp pasta. On our second stay, we booked a 60-min massage per person and I can only recommend this before a 10-hour flight. Lastly, we left our hiking and cold weather stuff there for two weeks which really helped with our baggage weight management in the Galapagos transfers. This was super appreciated!

- The big pool is only open at the weekend. We planned swim training which was not convenient in the small pool in the spa area. - A fridge in the room would have been appreciated.

Es un hotel de 10. Desde la propia finca, los animalitos que puedes ver, las habitaciones (limpia, cómoda, con un baño genial y super agradable), el desayuno fue fantástico y la cena de las mejores comidas que hemos tomado en Ecuador. Me quedaría aquí una y mil veces más, un espacio para relajarse y estar en paz y feliz.

Location, grounds & staff

A lovely stay in a restored historic hacienda. We enjoyed this first introduction to Ecuador, coming from the airport in transit to the Galapagos. The grounds especially are a delight, filled with local bird life and wandering llamas. The food was delicious and staff welcoming and attentive. Our room was simple, very clean, and open to the garden with a window view. Pretty pool area and a playground. A good variety in the breakfast buffet and wonderful courtyard seating. The facility is impressive, with restored hacienda public rooms and courtyards. Appreciated the airport shuttle service.
