The Mariners Hotel

We really enjoyed the breakfast.

The staff were lovely, always had a smile. The garden was nice but a shame the tables hadn’t been wiped free of birds droppings There was a large car park belonging to the hotel opposite

It is not a luxury hotel. The room we had opened up onto a balcony which could have been lovely. There was an old rattan sofa with a wet cushioned seat discarded to one side. The window cills were dirty and the wall was in need of paint. The view was amazing. The bar had little stock, my husband had the dregs of the Jack Daniel’s and there wasn’t a blended whisky to be offered.

The room was fantastic, spacious and with a balcony and wonderful views along the coast. It was so pretty at night too with all the lights on the hillside. We had 2 evening meals in the restaurant, both delicious. All the staff were friendly. We could take our dog everywhere in the hotel.

Very pleasant and friendly staff, convenient parking, good menu - we had breakfast and evening meals at the hotel throughout our stay. A very comfortable family run hotel.

Kitchen odours came up the stairs and the bed had seen better days.

Tired bathroom suite BUT! Clean.

The bar area and restaurant were excellent spaces; the restaurant in particular had a great view of the lower town and sea. The restaurant food was excellent - a cut above what we were expecting and, given the quality, represented good value for money. The bed in our room was very good and the quilt just the right rating for the room temperature. Kettle, tea/coffee and water supplies were fine.

The bathroom was very limited. The heated towel rail did not work and there were minimal toiletries/hand wash provided. Disappointingly, our room was not serviced on Sunday so no clean towels were available on our return to the room and the bed was unmade.
