Good afternoon, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, no, everything was not to our satisfaction. We were allocated ‘Wonky’ as our room for the night and when we arrived we started to run the shower and were met with the most disgusting excrement smell from the macerator which almost made me sick. That smell was present every time we ran water or flushed the toilet. The room needs some kind of sound proofing from the TV downstairs in the bar. It was more audible in the room than it was in the corridor outside the room, or even in the dining area right behind the TV. The bedroom carpet also looked like it hadn’t been hoovered. We had come up to Wales for a family gathering and thought we’d treat ourselves to a night away instead of driving 7 hours in one day, but it wasn’t a treat at all. We should have saved ourselves £90, plus another £40 on dinner, and driven home. On a more positive note, your staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the service for dinner was really good. Very friendly staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. We also ate there in the evening and the food was excellent.

Whilst we enjoyed our few days in Llandovery, the Bear is similar to a hostel. The room, whilst small is okay. Your living above the pub so you can expect those noises as the floor and walls are quite thin. The room was clean and the shower good but its probably not somewhere we would go back to. Its ideal for an individual night when your passing through the area.

Comfy bed

There was no restaurant the evening that my partner stayed. When booking it said there was a restaurant facility after paying for the booking they phoned to say the pub was closed on Monday night so no option for food.. after a early morning at work then a 6 hour drive to this location was very disappointed when receiving the phone call a couple of hours later
