Heritage Hotel Frankopan

All the staff were very friendly and professional, the town is small and the hotel is easy to find, the carpark is down the side at the back of the property.

Our room was clean and functional, but a little dated as was the whole property. We enjoyed a home cooked dinner in the restaurant, sit inside if you want to avoid smoke. Breakfast is basic, but adequate. I would class this as a 3* hotel not 4*. The electric car charger is not on site but a few blocks away in a public car park, it only operates in Croatian so speak to the helpful hotel receptionist if this is a problem.

This hotel was on our route exploring the real Croatia and it was as expected for an old building. Don't expect modern luxury. This is a traditional hotel in rural Croatia without a lift.

On arrival there was a noisy group of children in the courtyard. What we didn't realise was they were staying there. We were part way through our evening meal when they arrived in the restaurant. It became so noisy we abandoned our deserts & left. When mentioned to the staff that it might have been nice to have been warned the response was "it's OK". No, it wasn't OK for us. For several hours during the early hours of the morning there was a lot of noise from the floor above including what sounded like furniture being moved. The air conditioning was underpowered and only blowing out warm air but we couldn't open the window as the entire town smelt strongly of burning wood. The next morning we received an apology for the children disturbing us.

The location was good and in an interesting area and free parking was easy but it is very expensive compared to what Zagreb offers for the same money.

One rude staff member spoilt our dinner experience. We felt unwelcome so looked elsewhere for dinner. We checked out early because of this and due to our noisy, tired room. Check in and check out were good experiences.

Great location, just few minutes away from A1 autoput. One of the friendliest staff I've ever came across, warm and accommodating. Great restaurant with delicious fresh food.

Ogulin is a lovely town at the heart of a rural economy. The notable cave system was entered by a dramatic chasm very close to the hotel. Great location.
