Green Forest Tangkahan

Location had great view of the jungle. Staff could not do enough to help. Got picked up from the airport fine with great communication

Very basic rooms with bathrooms that are constantly wet

The view from our room, facing the river and forest! So peaceful. They also offered a jungle trekking with a guide. We really recommended it. We did with Nanta and Rudy. They both amazing.

Not enough time to spend more in our room. It's not the hotel fault. We have busy schedule.

They are nice, very good location to go to the jungle.

Very basic, not very clean. Also we had ordered our dinner (at noon, it’s better to anticipate in Sumatra). We arrived at 7pm but the cook never showed up.

A really great accommodation in a quit environment with riverview. The food is good. The guide Pandi took us for a rivertrip and next day for a jungle trek to see elephants and monkeys. We’ve loved it!!

The view from the room is beautiful, room is spacious and bathroom outside gives really the "jungle vibe". Location is perfect next to the river so you can cool down, close from the elephant sanctuary, possibility to walk to see the small waterfall and rent tubes to go down the river. Staff were really nice!

Not a lot of options for restaurant around, but basic indonesian food at the restaurant was good! It is also very hot even with the fan on.

View over the river to secondary jungle was lovely. The staff gave us a kettle for our room so we could boil water. Complimentary mangosteens. Lots of lizards around and a friendly cat. Good fruit juice, when available. Good day walk to batcave and hot springs.

We were asked to move after our first night as we'd been put in the wrong room. Plastic everywhere, in the bathroom, under the bed, in the garden. Inattentive staff, often new arrivals waiting for someone for over an hour. Bed base broken, old towels left in the room from last occupants. A limited menu with very small portions, better to walk out and eat with the locals in a warrung. Constantly leaking taps in bathroom, pretty manky. Very noisy neighbours at the campsite directly between accommodation and the river playing superloud kareoke all day. Not much wildlife to be seen. Avoid elephants, questionable ethics. Over the road from palm oil plantation. Left sadly disappointed.

Staff very friendly, food very nice. Really enjoyed the jungle hiking with Nandi and Madi, especially swimming down the clear river to see the waterfall! Loved the river just below Green Forest which was perfect to swim in during the hot days. Everyone in the local area was very friendly and inviting, always wanting a conversation! Nandi upgraded us to a room overlooking the river with balcony which had basic but sufficient facilities, definitely great value for money. Village was minimal but had useful tourist visitor centre and ATM.

Not much local selection of food on the menu but all very nice food anyway. Room was quite hot at night despite having a fan.

The crew were very friendly and helpful. Although the facility is simple, it is clean. The nature in the surrounding is beautiful. We can see the river and go down to the river for fresh dip in the water.

The mosquito nets in one of the rooms need to be fixed, it has holes.
