Green Forest Tangkahan

I met wonderful local people at the lodge. We went tubing and elephant washing together. I had an unforgetable stay due to the kind-hearted, fun people I met.

I thought I booked the Chalet but it was a standard room. The quality was low, it was "rustic basic" rather than standard. The room was neglected with dirty walls and floors and a hardly functioning shower. Its a place for a night just to sleep. A price of 3-4£ per night would be more adequate than 5.80£, which is what I paid for other Standard Rooms, which were nice and comfortable.

The staff were absolutely amazing at Green Forest! They were so welcoming when I arrived and throughout my whole stay they were great! I did the jungle trek and tubing and can honestly say it was the best day of my travels so far, so nice to spend an evening with the locals too! Couldn’t recommend this place enough 🫶🏼🤩

The only thing missing was a mirror in the bathroom… who needs to wear makeup in the jungle anyway!!!🤪

The location was amazing and the staff went above and beyond what was necessary. For the price it was beyond comparison but as a result of the very low price, don't expect 5 star luxury

The room itself was very nice. Shower and toilet outside was very clean. Tangkahan itself is a quiet town, the river is beautiful.

The staff was not friendly. We wanted to see the waterfall and the elephants, but they weren’t bothered at all. Even when we tried to ask with google translate, they didn’t care to gives us proper directions. The only person that spoke english also didn’t care to help us out. Since there was no phone reception for us, we were quite lost as to where to go or how to find things. In the end we could only get our room at around 4:30, even though we should have gotten it by 2 p.m. If you want to go to Tanghakan and are a Westener, just go somewhere else.

A sign describing and pricing the diffetent tours would have been helpfull.

The acommodation in the bungalow was not bad, could be improved but was very good for its price. The people here were extremely nice. The jungle tour with Nanda was amazing, the food was great. Its people was so great! I learnt a lot from them and they are hard working people! Nice experience.

Nice location in Tangkahan. They helped us to organise some nice activities like short jungle hikes and river tubing as well as airport transfer. The food in their restaurant was good.

The Bungalows are very simple, but an authentic experience. It can be very very hot and humid.
