Vala House

Vala House was pristine clean, quiet, beautiful, and had a lovely staff who made us feel welcomed and home. Lallu, Kabeer and Shiji were wonderful! They explained everything about the place and the facilities and went above and beyond to make our stay very special. Our bedroom was lovely, had a great bathroom, bed and shower, and an amazing view to the backwaters with a private terrace.

We had a stopover of two days during our cycling trip in India in Vala house. It appeared to be a gem. Away from the hustle with great views on the backwaters with birds and fisherman. Lalu and his wife took care of us. Just amazing people. Friendly and helpful. Great hospitality. We highly recommend this beautiful place close to Cherai beach!

Nice location , picturesque , good breakfast . The hosts Lalu, Kabir and the lady who manages the kitchen are great at customer service and make you feel very welcome . Abhi also was very helpful .

Lacks dining facilities so one needs to plan well for lunch and dinner while staying here . Some of the room amenities could be improved , like the fan regulator is broken in all the rooms . One of the biggest deterrent is the dining room being on the first floor with a flight of rather steep stairs , so elderly people and anyone with knee issue will find it challenging

Vala House is beautiful, our room was big, clean, stylish with a big comfortable bed. The garden room was great to sit in early morning & at night, over looking the lake/ fishermen. The staff, Kabeer, Shiji & Lallu were welcoming & friendly. Anything we asked about, they were very happy to help with. The breakfast was fabulous. A great space upstairs to eat breakfast overlooking the lake. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay, this is your place. I would highly recommend it.

The location was so beautiful and peaceful, right on the backwater facing the rising sun. The staff were amazing, they really couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect, absolutely wonderful.

A beautiful place with such a soothing scenic view of the backwater next to the terrace and very close (walking distance) to the sea. And AMAZINGLY wonderful staff members (Kabeer, Lalu, Sreeji) who made our stay there so memorable!!! They were so sweet, warm and welcoming. Guided and helped us with how to navigate around and things to experience. Would definitely stay there again if we revisit this region...

Amazing view and great hospitality. Breakfast was also good. A special shoutout to Kabeer, the caretaker!

The mosquitoes from 5 PM - 8 PM. Swarm will also be an understatement.
