Kithal Ella Station Resort

The hotel has a very good location and a beautiful view. The rooms are spacious, clean and bright. Very responsive and accommodating staff. Especially Shehan was very helpful and went above and beyond for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is also delicious and various.

Brand new hotel. Just 50m from station that every train stops and by the trails to waterfall and famous Ella’s Rock. We are travelling with 2 kids (8&5). The family room has 2 floors, so the parents could have some privacy downstairs. Children didn’t have any problem going up/down with caution. They loved the views on the trains which were passing by. Clean bedlinens and towels. Also there is a kettle, tea and coffee in the room. Breakfasts are varied, prepared with the highest care and staff is absolutely outstanding. The hospitality is exceptional. The best hotel experience in Sri Lanka so far.

We were super happy with our stay. The location was lovely. Picturesque and calm and quiet with a great view of the train going by. The rooms were new, clean, spacious and really nicely designed again with nice views. The breakfast was a great Sri Lankan spread and the staff were really helpful. Shehan was really attentive. We would definitely go back and most probably will again this year.

Generally we liked everything. The only issues we had were that the TVs in the rooms didn't work (weren't connected). This was due to the hotel being fairly new. This wasn't the end of the world but if you see TV's advertised on the ad, then you expect them to work. (my son in particular was disappointed). We were told they were waiting for connection. We spent most of our time out and about so not a huge issue but had the weather been terrible it would have been nice to have the option especially as we had the expectation before arriving. The hotel is situated down a very steep hill and our vehicle struggled to get up it to the point we had to get out and walk. This obviously isn't an issue with the hotel but just something to be aware of.

Great brand new clean hotel! we booked one night and stayed for two. Very comfortable bed, nice bathroom (always hot water), amazing view from the balcony. Walk to Ella center is about 30 minutes, but you can always catch tuk-tuk or train as the station is very close (check timetable). Also very good breakfast. We are thankful for our stay

The only problem were some noises in the morning and one evening (farmers and reconstruction works)

Great location in Ella, nearby the Kithal Ella railway station. One minute walking distance from the railway station. Clean room, very friendly staff, beautiful mountain view and closest place to the Ella rock. The trail to climb the Ella rock begins near this resort and the food was amazing. Highly recommend this resort for families with kids.
