Grand Cliff Ella

It felt really clean, compared to the other places we stayed in Sri Lanka.

The view is just fantastic, right on top of the waterfall. the host very friendly. the facilities are a bit old though

Staying at this hotel was a delightful experience! The proximity to the main road made it incredibly convenient to access, and the breathtaking mountain view from my room was simply mesmerizing. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home. Overall, my stay was incredibly relaxing, and I can't wait to return! Plus, watching the sunrise from the balcony was a superb view

The location and staff were brilliant. The people there were so friendly and helpful. The staff made our stay. The view from the balcony was breathtaking.

The bathroom was quite small with very little water pressure in the shower. There was only one power point so to run the kettle it had to be moved from the table to the other side of the room and put on the floor.

The view down through the valley was really impressive, and the balcony in front of the room was nice to hang out on. There was a small waterfall right by the balcony, so you could hear the water in the room.

The room was very damp when I got there, and needed some fresh air to be let in, the bathroom had ants in a steady stream, but they did not bother me since the stayed on the walls. Needs a little tlc. .

I loved the view to the jungles, tree with orange flowers, the sound of the waterfall, 2 big windows and a balcony. The room number 2 is really nice and more or less spacious, I managed to arrange all my stuff and also there was space for my yoga mat. This is very important. The sunrise from the big window is amazing. The view from the terrace is also breathtaking. I had my birthday during the stay and the hotel management brought me a basket of fruits which was very nice and unexpected. I was very pleased and felt warm. The hotel owner and the stuff themselves are very friendly, helpful, polite and supportive. I was very happy with this kind of care. And I really recommend this place (room number 2) for those who would like to enjoy great view at a reasonable price.

1) A lot of ants who occupy the toilet, huge colonies of ants. I felt so bad to flush them, they were everywhere. Seems they like the toilet very much. 2) The water in the shower isn't hot enough. And the flow isn't strong. 3) First 2 days I was in the room number 1 and there was a lot of noise from the road as the place is located by the road and the front room takes all the noise. So couldn't feel rested with all that noise. In the room number 2 there isn't any noise. I wish it could have been mentioned in the description and I would have booked the right room in the first place. (The rooms number 1 also have a nice view to Ella Rock, but the noise is very disturbing). 4) There is no food served in the hotel and it is located a bit far from Ella. Around 15 mins of walking distance, so you have to walk to get your food. Would be great to have traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts and curries cooked there. Well, at least I explored Ella's cafes and found Matey Hut with it's most delicious curries I have ever tasted. So, these are the areas for improvements. I tried to give an honest feedback. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay in Grand Cliff Ella. Especially because of the view. Every morning I enjoyed it very much. And the owner and stuff people are very very welcoming and helpful. Hopefully this place will become even more comfortable for those who would come to enjoy the beauties of Ella.
