Pub in refurb no pub facilities.

Mattress was older then me and a bit springy!

At the time I stayed meals were not available, but I was told about several good places to eat nearby. The room was simple, but comfortable, which as I was on a walking holiday, was just what I wanted. While I could still hear a little noise from the pub below, my request for a quiet room had been met as far as possible. Must expect some noise if booking a room above a pub

Very basic green light on ceiling way too bright to sleep

Nothing. The best thing about Alton was the Italian restaurant a short walk away.

Dirty rooms with holes in walls and dirty bathroom. Not sure the bedsheets had been changed from the last occupants. No food available (not that I would have eaten there).
