The Bootham Tavern - York

Very close to all tourist Attractions parking just behind hotel but very expensive during the day. Free overnight from midnight until 8am. The bar has loud music at weekends which you will hear in your room so go to bed late or join in the fun at the bar.

The staff were amazing. Room was comfortable. Breakfast was sooooo delicious.

The window did not seem to latch securely. This was disconcerting for a woman travelling alone. This caused me to bolt awake at every sound.

Lovey cosy room above the taven with nice cooked breakfast room clean bed comfy adequate shower road bit noisy but to be expected as its in the center of york we requested a particular room and we got the room

The property was a lovely room very warm cosy. But the only issue there was no shower or handrail to help get in and out of a large bath. The shower would have been helpful. You need to realised that the was music at night in the pub below the rooms. The staff and breakfast were lovely.

Bagno: avrei preferito la doccia e invece c’era una vasca addirittura senza doccetta, nessun piano di appoggio, nessuna presa (per un phon?) e poca luce. Tazza wc con cerniere incrostatissime. Camera: moquette, bollitore incrostato. In generale, camera che affacciava su strada molto trafficata e rumorosa, ci hanno fornito di una sola copia di chiavi per cui ci dovevamo coordinare per rientrare in camera. Colazione evitabile!!

Avoid! It’s cheap for a reason! Didn’t end up stopping here due to the absolutely insane amount of noise coming from the bar below. It went on until the early hours of the morning, massively exceeding the closing time advertised online, as well as the legal quiet period of 11pm. Cut our trip short and drove the 3 hours home at 1am. There was nothing on the listing to say there might be noise, and we weren’t told about it when checking in. Tried to get a refund due to it not being as advertised and was refused. I’m glad it was so cheap because I’ve wasted £90 that I’m not getting back.

The room was tired, dirty and didn’t have a working shower. The hotel manager NEVER responded to any of our messages or emails. Non existent customer service. The bar staff was extremely defensive when I complained about a non working shower. I would not recommend this establishment.

Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pub below is a great pub with fantastic live music. If you want to go to bed early this is not the place for you. Room and ensuite in need of update

Very bad experience, when I checked in I was told their breakfast would start at 9. I said I would be leaving by 8:30 and I was told I could take my breakfast away at 8. Very disappointed I didn't get anything and the staff said there was none.
