The Bootham Tavern - York

The proper was very central, close to train station and the centre of York .

The cleaning could do with a little more attention. Dusty lamps and table etc it didn’t put me off but it’s a shame the cleaning side let it down slightly.

Great location. Comfortable bed and cute room. Large bathroom.

Shower pressure was low. Bathroom had an auto closing door for some reason, just a little annoying. It was also very noisy at night due to it being a pub.

Good access to centre, good breakfast, clean and comfortable room, but water pressure in the minster room was very weak.

You can certainly hear the bar below if on the first floor. The Kararoke was fine the first night but the band was better the second. Watch the cab drivers first one took me on a 20£ taxi ride from the train station. Other cabs to and from were less then 10£

Was great - clean, comfortable, great location. You’re above a pub so you should expect some noise.

We stayed locally but we popped in because we liked the look of the breakfast menu. We came back every day we were in York. The breakfast was excellent, the staff were great (especially the cook), impeccably clean and my girlfriend and I loved the motown. We'll be back next time.

Brilliant location but bed was a small double, small, very hot room, windows could open but would not stay open so it was very uncomfortable and right above bar with live music all weekend and WOW it is loud VERY loud! Breakfast was nice but strictly 9am to 9.30 so we didn’t bother getting up on our second day. Would return to York but probably not to the bootham tavern unfortunately.
