Calet Hotel

It was a great experience. The location was great and they updated my room free of charge. There are a lot of good restaurants and cafes around. Jay was a great host. Very pleasant person and always smiling and ready to help us. He Helped us plan our stay, book boat trips and bus back to sa pa. I highly recommend this place.

Noghing

For the very reasonable price this hotel was worth it It’s very close to the port, and they let us check in early. The best thing about it was the friendliness of the staff, especially Truy who speaks excellent English and did everything to make us at home. Thank you Truy.

The hot water was not available all the time but for three periods a day. Maybe because it was low season.

Jay, the customer service agent, was very responsive and supportive and always available for our inquiries via WhatsApp and personally. Also the price of less than 9€ per night for 2 persons including a good breakfast is almost unbeatable, even for Vietnam. The location is very good in Cat Ba Center near the pier and restaurants.

At the low price it is hard to complain, but like many Hotels in Vietnam this one had a problem with humidity. Also there was a some mold on the walls above the cupboard.

Location.

I was very disappointed with the room we got. It looked great on the photos, but the furniture was older, the walls were dirty and the most important thing - once we opened the door, the smell of the room was awful. Like a mold smell. We came in the evening and stayed just for 1 night, so we just fell asleep immediately, but I do not recommend it for a longer stay. The breakfast was just basic. The hotels itself looks good. Maybe only our room was that bad.

Absolutely loved everything about this hotel- Jay and Truy were amazing, kind, and helpful. It is in a convenient location that is quiet, the room was beautiful, and they offered all kinds of services like laundry, tour bookings and scooter rentals. Jay even advised us it would be much cheaper to rent scooters to see the caves and national park and taught us outside how to drive it! They answered all our questions and provided useful tips and dropped our clean laundry off back in our room (which they also offer daily cleaning for). Thank you Cat Ba Violet hotel and team for making this part of our trip so special. If we ever come back to Cat Ba, we would stay there again, with no hesitation!

We had a very nice stay at Violet hotel and also booked our 5 star cruise in Ha Long bay for 2 days 1 night through here The hotel is new and comfortable, clean and modern Amazing service with a delicious breakfast included Jay and his team are incredibly nice and make your stay worthwhile

very friendly staff

I came back to my room to find the door wide open after housekeeping cleaned the room. There was no safe in the room or place to lock valuables. Breakfast was very basic and the restaurant was hard to find - the restaurant is on the 9th floor, but the elevator only goes to the 8th floor.

Value for the money is okay.

Breakfast is really cheap.
