Oakwood Hall Hotel

Hotel was clean and in good location

Breakfast was terrible, just a young lad looking after continental breakfast with hardly any ingredients. Ive never known a waiter serve me in a puffer jacket.

Convenient location near the moors. A beautiful old building with lots of character.

The heating was practically non-existent and only turned on occasionally even though it was the winter and very cold. Hot water was only available for showers sometimes and we had to leave without being able to shower. Breakfast was extremely limited and we had to bring our own kettle down from the room to have hot tea. Staff were frequently unavailable. Overall, it felt like the hotel is being run at the lowest possible cost without consideration of guests.

The staff that we encountered were lovely and the location was perfect for what we wanted.

The mattress in room 3 needs throwing away. The most uncomfortable nights sleep I’ve ever had! The toilet seat was loose. Some of the crockery needs replacing due to cracks and chips and the tablecloth had a massive burn hole in the middle of it.

Very comfortable with great continental breakfast.

Really cold in the night loads of dead ladybirds in room. We could not figure this one.

The building is beautiful inside and out, with lovely features such as stained glass windows.

No bedding made for the kids for the first night, had to improvise with sheets and put the sofa bed / cot together ourselves. No hot water in the bathroom sink. Room was very cold at night. Bar and restaurant closed. Staff are mostly relatives of the owner who don't seem to be trained nor interested in hospitality, although try to be helpful. Room wasn't tended to by housekeeping once despite a planned 3 night stay - we cut short a day early because we were unhappy. Cheap mattress and base. Basic breakfast. Decor needs maintenance.

The hotel was a beautiful old building. Easy walking distance for us in to town. Nice & quiet

The hotel room was a bit dated. The curtains were all torn & didn't fit the window. Good job it didn't get light at 5am. Things like this need sorting

Beautiful building and so pleased to see everywhere was in keeping with the grace this property deserves.

Nothing at all. Gorgeous place to stay and also celebrate special occasions there.
