Location was perfect for our needs. The staff were friendly and approachable. Plenty of parking. We stayed in room one and it was surprisingly comfortable. We will be returning.

It's a shame that a cooked breakfast is not offered but we knew that before booking so its not actually a negative.

I think the hotel is in transition. Beautiful property, pleasant, peaceful garden great to enjoy if you get chance, lovely staff. Currently continental breakfast the only food on offer and soft drinks in the bar. Some decorating needed but cleanliness is excellent. I hope they continue to bring this lovely building fully back into service.

Breakfast quite poor. Not a lot of selection, and very limited for a 'Continental Breakfast' !

Beautiful building. Must have been good once upon a time.

Was not told restaurant would not be open when booking.. Bar not licensed. Room was cold, needed to borrow electric heater from reception and carry it up three flights of stairs. Bathroom shaver light not working, toilet seat broken. Expected full breakfast, only continental available with stale croissants.

The façade of the hotel is stunning. The period features make you feel as if you were meeting Poirot or Christie for a 'whodunnit' novel experience. The furniture is in keeping with the elegant style of a time gone by. A beautiful interior and a wonderful room complete with a mini CD player, TV, hostess tray with biscuits which were a pleasant addition.

Whilst the room had a radiator, the room was freezing- obviously such a stone building does not keep the heat in. However, this made sleeping very difficult. We had a family room and took the duvet from the sofa bed to add to our very thin duvet. I am sure that in summer months the room is pleasantly warm. The water did not run longer than a couple of minutes at a time in either bath or shower. Now, onto breakfast.....we arrived in the dining room shortly after 9. The tables were not occupied nor did they look like they had been busy. There were no pastries, cold meats were a couple of what appeared to be fake meat or turkey rashers. The bread box was nigh on empty, the coffee pot was empty. There was a decent selection of cereal, a few yoghurts and some individually wrapped cheeses with some crackers. An odd experience for the price. Felt a little like fawlty towers.
