Giron Chill Out Hotel Boutique

We spent one night at the Chill Out hotel as we had an early flight from Bucaramanga airport nearby. The room was rustic but nicely decorated and it had air con and a clean bathroom with hot shower. For the price that was more than we could have asked for. Breakfast was good (probably the best arepas we’ve had) and the service was great, really friendly and available for anything. The bedlinen felt a bit synthetic, the lighting in the room was a bit dingy and the noise from the street can be a bit loud during the day. That said, I slept solidly and comfortably so I can’t complain. Do note that Giron doesn’t have much to offer and restaurants seem to shut at 8pm so I wish we had had a meal at the hotel instead. I wouldn’t recommend Giron itself but if you have to be in Giron, Chill Out is a very good place to stay.

Visited again in late February 2018. Just as good as my first visit. Ok it’s a rustic place with great charm. They make you welcome and will always try to help. The rooms are comfortable and have air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The bathroom is basic but everything is clean and works. Breakfast is good, fresh fruit and cooked food also. We went out all day butt you can have an evening meal if you wish. The eating area has an open roof with a sliding cover, a great place to talk and have a beer. The staff are so nice and helpful, the owner was there this time and was wonderful to us as well. The staff even came in to give us breakfast extra early so we could get to the airport to catch an early flight. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel when visiting the area it’s ideal for families as well.

We stayed here for one night at the end of a tour due to it's location near the airport. It has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are super friendly and helpful. We had diner in the hotel and that was a wonderful experience, as you sit on a table that overlooks the kitchen. So, you can watch the food being meticulously prepared. The food was fantastic and the service also. The room however disappointed. The shower was cold, throughout the whole time we were there, even after being told it would warm up. Also, the room was noisy. So, you could hear everything going on outside. It was however, air conditioned and had a fan. It's a shame the facilities could not match the fantastic staff and food.

We stayed in the Chill Out for one night during our roundtrip in Colombia with our children aged 7, 5 and 3. The Chill Out is a nice and relaxed place to stay near the town center. We stayed here because we had a flight to Bogotá in the morning and Giron (and the Chill Out) are very close to the airport, otherwise we probably wouldn't have stayed in Giron. But the rooms here are really nice, we had accommodation with two rooms and a bathroom. One room had a bunk bed, the other a double and a single, so enough for the five of us.The bathroom is a covered part outside, which looks kind of weird at first but is actually pretty nice. We decided to have dinner in town, but when we returned dinner was being prepared for a group that had just arrived and smelled really good. Breakfast in the morning was just fine, we asked for some toast as we had an early departure to the airport. Staff is really friendly and has patience with people who don't speak a lot of Spanish. Very helpful throughout the stay with everything you ask. Although we thought Giron does not have a lot to offer, we wouldn't mind staying in the Chill Out.

A great small hotel that really cares. The staff really knows how to give a good service. It didn't cost a fortune either. I've stayed at another hotel in the centre of Giron and would not go back there again. So it was refreshing to find a place that was so welcoming and that cared about its guests. I would recommend the chill out hotel to anyone.

This is a small house they have developed into a hotel. It is clean, cozy and well decorated. The service is excellent! Estela, our host exceeded all expectations and made our stay way charming and relaxing. The rooms could be on the smaller side, however they are well decorated with antiques and modern elements that help relax. I appreciated the fact that the rooms were equipped with both AC and fans and the beds were quite comfortable. We highly recommend this place

We stayed in this nice hotel after flying into Bucaramanga airport on a pre Colombia tour stopover. The hotel features nice rooms (though a little noisy from the street), good breakfast, friendly staff and a free though somewhat slow internet connection. Would go there again, recommended place...

Really. Rooms are cool with stylish furniture. A boutique hotel in UNESCO protected Giron, owned by a Colombian-Italian couple. Six double rooms and sixteen seats at the restaurant. Also available a small studio. The hotel is mainly used by business people who want to stay outside busy Bucaramanga....

What a fantastic hotel and wonderful service. An old Colonial building in the heart of the centre of Girón and perfectly located just one block away from the main square. Our room was spacious with air conditioning, with a decently sized bathroom and shower, and it felt more like staying in a house than in a hotel. With regards to the service, you couldn't ask for any more. As soon as you enter the hotel you are made to feel welcome, Cecilia was absolutely fantastic throughout our entire stay, as were the rest of the staff and they couldn't do enough to ensure that we enjoyed our visit. Even the owner took the time to chat and ask us how we were and if everything was to our liking which I thought was a nice touch. Girón is a beautiful little town and definitely worth a visit, even more so if you decide to stay in this hotel, you almost feel like part of the family, the level of service and not to mention friendliness is just not something you get in larger corporate hotels. I have no hesitation in recommending the Chill Out to anyone considering visiting Girón or the surrounding area, you will not be disappointed.

If Boutique Hotel first and foremost means "small" then this is the appropriate term. My room, while actually cute and clean, was sandwiched right between the busy and noisy street and the reception area, where the radio was running. Therefore, I did not really feel to have much privacy. The sitting area is quite charming but again of miniature size. In comparison to most other hotels in Colombia I found the service also a bit mixed in terms of friendliness. In sum, for the price (around 80 Euros per night) the Giron Chill Out Boutique Hotel did not quite meet my expectations.
