Good location in an interesting part of towm. Rather bohemian. Clean sheets. Nice beer garden. Reasonable breakfast, but you have to be there at 6.00, when it comes out of the kitchen, if you want your fried rice and fried egg to be other than stone cold.

Shower had poor pressure and luke warm water, which for me is a major deficiency. Toilet was so close to the wall that I had to sit on it sideways. Door lock needed oiling. Door leading to accommodation area was a constant nightmare to unlock even for the staff member whom l asked to help me. Curtains were very skimpy and kept out no light at all, which together with the over-amplified nearby mosque means that this (or at least Room 13) is no place for a lie-in. Overall, perfectly adequate, but probably a better place to go for a drink than to stay in.

The rooms are simple but comfortable and including a desk, well designed. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning cold, and the private rooms good value for money. A simple but nice breakfast included.

Weekends is not ideal for staying because there is music from the bar/club below which makes it difficult to sleep. So avoid booking on Saturday night.

Cosy stay for 1 night, walking distance from China Town, restaurants and cafes. The hotel also have their own restaurant and beer garden, really lively. Room was tiny, but comfortable. Good shower and all good in general, no issues

I stayed one night in Padang before getting the Fast Ferry to Mentawais. I read reviews saying that this place is super loud/busy. I stayed on a Monday or Tuesday night and it was very quiet, I was well rested and had a good night sleep. The communal shower/toilet was not very nice but the en suite with my room was great. Comfy bed, cold AC, great value for money.
