Casa Grande Mountain Retreat - Adults Only

The location is beautiful, surrounded by mountains, and perfect for relaxation. The area is extremely quiet, with lovely landscaping and friendly staff. There’s also a very cute dog on the property, which adds a fun and charming touch. This place is ideal for meditation, yoga, and peaceful отдых — if you’re looking for music, parties, or nightlife, this is not the right choice. At night, the sky is filled with stars, and you truly feel embraced by nature the entire time.

The restaurant has a very limited food menu, and the quality was not good, especially considering how expensive it is. If you plan to stay for more than a short time, it’s better to bring your own food or be prepared to drive about 20 minutes to downtown to find more dining options. The rooms do not have a refrigerator, so it’s difficult to store food or drinks in the room. There is also no air conditioning. Most nights were cool and comfortable, but it’s important to check the season and weather before booking to make sure it suits you. If you need ice or plates, the staff will provide them upon request. There are not many activities around the hotel, and the roads in the area are narrow. Be prepared for at least a 30-minute drive to reach most destinations.

The property was beautiful. Being nestled in the mountains, and perched on a hill lead to a picture perfect location. The rooms were clean and simple nothing too distractions or unnecessary.

The drive to the property was a journey to say the least. The roads are a twisty curvy test of patience and skill. The extreme uphill grades and possible shortcuts that look like old walking paths that the GPS will take you on, will keep you on your toes. However they had the added benefit of beautiful sweeping views of mountain sides and water falls.

Beautiful setting and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I am plant based and they did their best to accommodate.

They were not supplied to meet the capacity. The first night we were there they were out of most of the wine on their menu. The second night they were out of the only plant based dessert option.

Overall, I DO recommend staying here, but there are definitely many things to note. The property is absolutely gorgeous, the room sizes are generous, the food is delicious and the views throughout Utuado are green screen quality. Nature minded/ outdoorsy folks will thrive at Casa Grande the most and frankly any other stay in Utuado.

1. Casa Grande is not Puerto Rican owned. 2. The property is all hills and stairs with no one to help with your bags. 3. As soon as quiet hours end early in the morning, very loud property maintenance begins for about 3 hours straight. Something to keep in mind if you are not a morning person. 4. Food on the property is VERY expensive. My first dinner (an entree + dessert, no alcohol) cost me $52. 5. Don't underestimate driving in Utuado/ the difficulty of getting to the property. I recommend using a jeep like vehicle and not driving in the dark. You are competing for road space in narrow curvy roads with horses, trucks and other cars.
