"Nice hotel"

9.0

Spacious, clean room with good air conditioning. Shower has warm not hot water, at the end of the day it's fine, but not in the morning. Nice to have access to the kitchen where there is free coffee every morning, although it is quite weak. Beautiful view of the laagoon from the shared patio.

It's very over priced for what you get. If people are on the patio you can hear everything in your room. We had to ask them to be quiet at bed time.

"Good location, confortable modest room"

Good location, right by the laguna and in the city center. Friendly staff and helpful. Possible to park for free in the street in front of hotel. Large common area terrasse. Clean modest room.

Would be nice to have hangers in the bathroom for towels.

"Very good"

8.0

Good location, a few minutes walking from Bacalar's downtown. Possibility to park for free in the public slots close by. Coffee and water offered for free in the common area.

The room we got was ok but quite basic, and the shower was dripping continuously though the tap was closed.

"This hotel was good. I found it a bit expensive for the amenities, but I would stay here again."

7.0

I stayed in room 14 which I can only assume is the best room they have. It has it's own separate entrance from the rest of the hotel, so it is very private. The room was spacious and clean. The a/c was strong, and the view was incredible! The location to the lagoon and downtown cannot be beat. I appreciated the free coffee in the morning because I'm a bear without it. The room is incredibly basic, but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It has very large windows overlooking la laguna, so I was worried the sun would wake me early, but the blackout curtains did a great job at keeping the light out.

I'm not very particular when I travel, so certain things like no hot water or lack of water pressure don't bother me too much, but be prepared if you have expectations of those two things. What I will say is that there is a gap in the bottom of the entrance to the room and I arrived last evening to la cucaracha scurrying around. I ended that pretty quickly, but the room is not secure to keep bugs out. There was also a smell of sewage coming from the bathroom, but I know this is not a problem with the hotel and more with the drainage lines in the town. A bedside table and lamp would have made my stay marginally more comfortable, but this is a minor detail more than a complaint.

"Amazing location, great hosts and a fair price"

9.0

The location is just fantastic. Just 1 block from the lake and 2 blocks from the main square with all the restaurants. The chicos who run the hotel are great and very helpful. It’s very clean and spacious and they even dropped me at the airport on their way to work. It’s a lovely place at a very reasonable price

The only thing for me really was the kitchen. I hadn’t realised that there was no stove top and no kettle/jug. They did say I could use a different kitchen that the staff used but I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. I was not able to make a cup of tea without a kettle. They have something that provides warm water but it doesn’t get anywhere near the temperate of boiling water. Maybe that’s how kitchens work in Mexico but for me, those are important missing details and make the kitchen incomplete
