Hotel Miriam

This is a friendly, kind of funky, hotel with a nice patio overlooking the lagoon and complimentary morning coffee. The room I had was very spacious and private with a beautiful view of the lagoon (room 14). The wifi worked well and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The air conditioner worked efficiently and the room was nice and clean. It's situated one block from the lagoon and 2 blocks from the central square. It's close to many restaurants and the ATM machines next to the central square.

While the room was spacious it lacked quality furnishings. There was a plastic folding table to sit at using a patio chair that was starting to show its age but no other furnishings besides a small, tasteful, handcrafted low table by the door and of course the huge bed. There were no lamps, beside tables nor chest of drawers. Although the bathroom was spacious, it lacked anywhere to hang a towel, the faucet was not firmly attached and the handle to the door of the bathroom was about to fall off. I was a little concerned about the security of the room as the door wasn't very substantial and only had a lock in the door knob but no deadbolt. Also there wasn't any in room safe or any way to secure belongings.

Miriam is great! Perfect location - right next to a public access to the lagoon and neighbouring with my favourite restaurant (both breakfasts and dinners!). The lagoon-view from the patio and from my bedroom was stunning. I absolutely recommend it!

Great Location close to the public jetty and the town Center.

Bad smell in the bathroom,

Nice shared outside area to sit, big comfortable rooms, very relaxed place in Bacalar, we can recommend this place :)

Coffee is not good, something to hang towels and clothes would be nice
