The Taybank

Loved the hamper breakfast. The very soft sheets. The amazing sauna and plunge tank. The location right on the river (and near a decent walk up The Hermitage). Atmospheric bar with folk taking turns on instruments. Stunning food in restaurant.

We stayed for one night, we arrived early went to the bar for a drink I told the barman we were staying that night, he checked for us and said our room would be ready in 20 minutes. We finished our drinks collected our bags from the car and came back through the same door past the bar no reception a girl came out a door with a phone and basically checked us in on that. Took us to our room, all looked lovely but after another look bit disappointed old chest of brown drawers did not go with room. Breakfast was a hamper at your door at 8.00am. Very disappointing as very small jars of stewed apples, yogurt and granola croissants 2 tiny pieces of cheese and 4 small salami. Certainly not worth the money £210 for 2 people. When leaving told to leave key in lock we did and no one to be seen. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel due to cost,breakfast and no one around to check you out. Maybe they don’t want to hear any complaints.

The Taybank has an awesome location right on the River Tay, with an outdoor dining area right on the bank. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and the breakfast "hamper" was charming. Breakfast was do-it-yourself and perfect for people on the go. All in all, a great experience.

The live music in the evening makes it hard to fall asleep early due to noise. They were done by 10 or 11.

Loved our stay at The Taybank. Beautifully situated on the river, outstanding food, incredible service, comfortable rooms, and fresh. Warm fresh croissants with hot coffee was a wonderful touch too! Thank you!

Wish we could've stayed longer! :)
