The Taybank Hotel hosted the Wake for my Daughter. Couldn't have wished for a better Send Off. Wonderful, magical, rememberable place. Forever in our hearts and memory. Amazing people, you kinda never want to leave. And, that's coming from a softy Southerner. Thank you.

"Great appartment/location, poor service/equipment"

6.0

The property was ideally situated near the river in Dunkeld and close to the riverside gardens. There was parking (albeit limited at times). The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and recently renovated. The picnic breakfast was fresh and enjoyable.

There seemed to be a distinct lack of staff and service ethic. No-one on reception when we arrived: we had to seek out someone to get our keys. The pre-arrival email encouraged us to dine in the restaurant; but on arrival no-one asked if we would like to book and when we tried to book a table we were told that the restaurant was full (we were not even asked if we were hotel guests). The apartment was sparsely equipped; three side plates and dinner plates for 4 people—notably mentioned in earlier reviews, a fire extinguisher stuffed into the top of a cupboard, and very nice complimentary eggs but no frying pan. The hotel proudly notes that there are no TV’s; but in fact that was a bit inconvenient in the middle of the Euros and Wimbledon.

"Gorgeous setting, great location."

8.0

Gorgeous styling, excellent location with a fab outside space next to the river. The staff are lovely too!

The breakfast basket concept - it’s a cute idea for one morning, but doesn’t compare to a hot breakfast served with a tea or coffee and I wouldn’t be thrilled with it more than one morning in a row.

"Poor"

2.0

Absolutely not worth the money and my mistake for not reading trip advisor before booking this hotel, as consistent with what so many other reviews mention Shabby hotel that has done everything to make it look instagram good but reality is very different. Zero staff around to check you in - spent the first half hour wasting time trying to find staff to actually check us in and then to find them again to complain about issues with our room. Apartment is not part of the hotel - not mentioned on their website clearly. Instead on a separate street with an entrance that is just awful - looks like you are entering a council house tenement with broken lock / door that has seen better days and a rundown set of stairs. The apartment blind was broken in our bedroom and clearly obvious as the blind chain was sitting on the window sill so no excuses for staff not to have fixed it before we arrived. Rooms showing signs of tiredness with stains on carpets / rugs / couch and no TVs in the room or indeed cupboards in bedroom (instead a cheap hanger in the room). It feels basic assumption to think you are having breakfast in the hotel - not to then be told that breakfast consists of a delivery of some continental food to your room. All signs of a hotel that can't be bothered providing a breakfast serving to guests as default. Kitchen in apartment nice / but again bathroom is more like 1980s bathroom - this hotel is very selective in its photographs. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel for the money they are charging - you could not get a bigger gap between price point and reality. some clever design optics masks a hotel furnished on the cheap. The staff did try to make amends but to be honest it was really hard to shake off our experience. We also had dinner which was average, again would not go out my way to suggest dining. On one positive - wood fired pizzas at the outside area were lovely - might suggest that really only go to this hotel for a drink on the riverbank and actually avoid the hotel. I hate giving reviews like this as you want these small businesses to flourish but you have to get the basics right and some minimum standards for the image you are conveying,

"Amazing stay in the heart of Dunkeld"

Absolutely LOVED the garden restaurant area. Such a great vibe on a summer evening and the food was 👌 We stayed in one of the separate apartments and it was great to have some extra space with our 2 kids. The breakfast hamper delivered each morning was great.
