"Almost perfect!"

Location is beautiful, and the food and staff in the restaurant were fantastic. Breakfast hamper in the morning is great, and the snacks at the riverside area were nice.

More front of house staff would help the entire operation: we have visited here before and had to wait for a while for someone to turn up and check us in as there is no proper reception. It was worse this time, and we were not the only party waiting for a long time for a staff member to come and check us in. It was a little chaotic whenever we needed to speak with a FOH staff member - trying to book a dinner table in advance etc took days as the phone was never answered, our eventual booking was not passed on to the restaurant anyway. First impressions count, so make check-in better!!!

"Great experience at Taybank"

Fantastic night at the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgable a great relaxed friendly vibe. Room was lovely and very well furnished. The evening meal was fantastic and the breakfast basket was a lovely quirky idea Would absolutely recommend this hotel

"A lot of room for improvement (no pun intended)"

Looking at reviews online on Tripadvisor there are numerous reviews commenting on the poor checking in and out process at your hotel …. Obviously this has not been read or has been read and not actioned. My wife and I had eaten the pizza at your hotel a few years back. We were looking at getting a self catering holiday property for 3 nights in the Dunkeld area and we remembered your establishment. On looking we saw that you allowed dogs. So we thought it’s not cheap but let’s treat ourselves. We arrived last Sunday and there was no one at reception. We rang the buzzer and nothing. We rang the buzzer a few times and nothing. I then tried to call your number. Email or leave a message …. This is hopeless. I then walked into the bar and waited till the barman had finished dealing with customers and asked if he could help us check in. He wandered through to the kitchen and then proceeded to walk back into the bar area ( saying nothing to us) and then proceeded to start pouring drinks. My wife and I were left standing there with our cases and two small dogs knowing nothing. The total time we stood there was nearly 15/20 minutes and the most surprising point was that when we were standing there …. Three times members of staff walked past us in and out of the kitchen and not once did they offer any help. This is a ridiculous way to treat your customers at this hotel. You are positioning yourself at the premium end of the market and paying over £700 for a three night stay - I have never had such a bad experience in a hotel before. I have never had such a hassle with adding things to our room and the wrong items being on our bill. So to save time I thought I would clear the balance due on Tuesday evening so that we could just leave after breakfast. I went to the bar and it was a disaster. I paid £89.77 by card thinking it was for our meal in the restaurant that we just had but another bill was emailed to me saying we still owed over a £100 still. When checking this bill that was emailed to me it showed lots of items that we had not had…. Soft drinks , some coffees and a pint of Guinness. Neither of us drink Guinness. Your bar man tried to get it to work and then it disappeared showing no balance due. To add insult to injury I then receive an invoice from yourself saying that we had not paid for our room when we had last October when booking and still showing items we had not had. You then sent an amended bill saying that this was the outstanding balance due but it was still wrong as it was saying I had two ciders-when I only had one in the restaurant. No one ever explained to us that we could get a coffee with our breakfast made for us. On Monday morning I used the single cup cafetière in our room to make two cups - two boils of the kettle. Up and down the stairs to the restaurant room to eat our breakfast. There was no-one around on the Monday morning to speak to regarding getting a coffee. On the Tuesday morning the nice young gentleman explained to us at that point that we could get a coffee made which was good. The breakfast hampers were ok - we and the other guests felt that a more substantial breakfast should be provided considering the money that we were paying for the room per night. Everything in the hamper was lovely. The checking out process was never explained to us. This whole process was just as bad. On leaving the hotel on Wednesday morning we packed up and proceeded to try and find someone so that I could speak to someone about the outstanding bill and get it sorted. I rang the bell again a few times - nothing. Cannot phone anyone so we were left waiting again for nearly 15 minutes. The young gentleman from breakfast eventually appeared and we went into the bar to try and settle my bill - no joy. That’s when he said you would be in touch. Your staff when they were not walking past us and ignoring us on Sunday afternoon were perfectly pleasant. My wife and I have never had such a bad experience in a hotel before. Please pass this onto your manager. I appreciate the kind gesture regarding the money due. To be honest we won’t be returning for a repeat visit due to our experience over the last few days.

"Skinny Fries with a fat price tag 😂"

Outstanding beer garden area looking out onto the River Tay. Decent value beer on tap however steer clear of the “sea salt skinny fries” at £7 a portion 😂 Fortunately, the waitress had the look of embarrassment when we questioned her, so they took them back and topped the bowl up. That said, still on the steep side for frozen fries! You won’t get a better location for a beer in the sun though!
