PKI had an amazing experience at Baltistan Fort, owned and crafted by Rashid Sami. The property is a work of art—every detail, from the architecture to the decor, is thoughtfully curated, giving it a unique and special charm. The views are simply breathtaking: Karakoram on the right, Himalayas on the left, and the Indus weaving magic right in front. At night, stargazing here is an unforgettable treat. The location is peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle, yet conveniently close to the airport. Rashid Sami’s hospitality was exceptional—he didn’t even ask for an advance deposit and gave us the flexibility to decide once we arrived. He also offered complimentary airport pickup and drop-off, and his car was available to take us to nearby restaurant multiple times. Despite Skardu’s usual WiFi challenges, Baltistan Fort had a decent connection, and the property runs entirely on solar power, so we had zero power cuts. Hot water is usually available only in the morning, but they made sure to provide it twice daily upon our request. Being next to a glamp site meant we had easy access to their restaurant with variety of food, which could also be delivered right to our room. On our last day, Rashid Sami organized a cozy bonfire and treated us to special local buckwheat soup—complimentary and a perfect farewell. The owner lives on the property, making it super easy to reach out for anything, and we had some lovely conversations with him about his work in art, theatre, and film. His hospitality and the warm atmosphere of Baltistan Fort made this trip truly memorable. Highly recommend this beautiful place for an unforgettable experience!

HNThe surroundings were absolutely mind blowing, but the hotel was not as shown in booking. com
No ventilation in the room, no ac, the sewage has no hydraulic seals and the bathroom stank strongly, it was not clean, electricity was a problem, breakfast was just bread, tea and two eggs, the room was not a comfortable room to rest, too hot in the day and no cross ventilation
MYWe had a pleasant stay here! The location is beautiful with amazing 360-degree mountain views all around. It's also quite close to the airport, which was very convenient for us. We tried their in-house buckwheat soup for dinner and it was absolutely delicious – definitely recommend trying it! The owner was very welcoming and down-to-earth, which made our stay even more comfortable. Overall, a good experience!
There aren't any restaurants within walking distance, but that wasn’t a problem since we were out exploring most of the day.
PKLocation and views. The escort from the main road to the hotel.
Overall grimy and worn out appearance of rooms and the property in general. We felt like we'd been deceived as the photos and rating promised a better experience. Unpleasant smell in both rooms. We decided to go and stay elsewhere - i.e found alternative accommodation. Still had to pay 100% of the room rent, which was very disappointing as the place was not as advertised.
GBHad a great time the owner and stuff are very hospitable and nice! The location of the Fort is beautiful and there are hikes you can do around the area. The hotel runs on solar power which is very environmentally friendly.
PKWonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic experience staying here at Baltistan Fort Resort. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The hotel's location, the staff, the food, everything was perfect. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Skardu. Uncle Rashid and Zahid Bhai thank you for your love and kindness ❤️
