Baltistan Fort Skardu Resort

Stunning views of the desert,Indus, late katpara & mountains. The owner Rashid is crafting a lovely place with local antiquities and he definitely has an eye & taste for unique design. We stayed in a two-storey suite with private balcony. Lovely food, relaxing breakfast room with a view as well and very very helpful and hospitable people working there. The whole place is very quiet, as there is no road around. If you're looking for busy bazar life, this is not your place. But if you come to see an amazing part of skardu from where you can get to all the places around and want to enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains, you should come and stay at baltistan fort resort. Btw, resort could be misleading: it is a very cozy place with only a few rooms and a beautifully carved courtyard including cherry trees & flowers.

It was very near to the skardu airport, room was spacious and clean, washrooms were nice and clean. Staff and cooking were great. Views from the room were exceptional

We stayed three nights in a two-story suite. The owner contacted us before our stay and was very friendly throughout our stay. He checked to see if everything was okay every day. The property is nicely located in the desert and about a 20-minute drive from central Skardu, which makes it quiet and peaceful at the property. We visited in April and had a lot of rain the first two days and it was cold at night. The hotel lacks electricity (usually solar panels) and heating (there were fan heaters in the rooms). Due to the weather, there was no solarelectricity, which the owner solved with a generator in the evenings. It was turned off at about 10 p.m., which was nice for the quiet, but then the heat also disappeared indoors and it became a bit cold and damp indoors. There is no hot water, but if you talk with the owner, it is heated through fire so that there is hot water. We ordered hot water for the morning shower, which worked well 2 out of 3 days. On the third day it was so cold outside that the heat in the shower unfortunately wasn't high enough. Breakfast was served on a tray and consisted of 1 egg, toast, jam, margarine and coffee/tea. We also got water bottles at breakfast. The beds were of good quality. Some strong smell in the bathroom . We got a small towel and a large towel to share. There was soap for the shower but no shampoo/conditioner. The rooms felt a bit darker and more worn out than in the pictures. Among other things, water came in through a plastic pipe by one of the beds.

There are dramatic mountain views from the room and the terrace. The staff is kind and helpful and the beds are comfortable. Hot water is also available (check with the staff for the timing). The road leading up to the property is essentially a desert-road, with the local driver though, it wouldn't be a problem to reach it. It's worth staying here.

Please stop enlisting this property. It's total scam. The property does not even come close to what is shown un pictures. My kids were scared to even go to the rooms. I just paid Rs 10000 and left. There reviews are just a scam. Please delist this property. It's not safe for families.
