Pepos Xul-Ha

The place is super quiet, very ideal to rest, the view is very nice and the service is very good.

There is not much in the surrounding area. There are no restaurants and we always opt to go to Bacalar town to do things. However, if you know you are going to a place where you are literally just resting, it is not a problem.

We like everything and everyone, work there , simple but very relaxing place, we travel for anniversary from 11-3-23 to 11-6-23 very good place we return for more days next time thank you Pepos

Very tranquil and quiet. Cute setting. Feels like you have the lake to yourself. Able to borrow the kayaks. Nice cats and dogs hanging around. Xul-ha has no ATMs and little in the way of restaurants or shops so come prepared.

The huts have AC, but aren't especially bug and Moskito proof. We got many many bug bites despite trying our best to avoid. The kitchen is rustic and a little unsanitary but very usable.

Absolutely lovely. The cabanas are clean comfortable and unique. The lake is just beautiful. This is a place for chilling. Not a place for great restaurants and night life.

This place was super chill. the owner Rene was thoughtful and kind, Sephora made a delicious breakfast every day and Israel kept the place spiffy. kayaks and paddle boards available to explore the gorgeous blue fresh water lake. We had a 4 hour catamaran tour with Elise and Danny that included biology lesson and a beautiful fruit lunch. the cabanas are unique and quiet. the bathroom facilities are private but shared. sinks are communal outside. We liked so well we stayed an extra night. Taxis can be called to get a ride. we had a car so we went to Chetumal for evening meals.

It was exactly what we were looking for.

Israel and Sephora are amazing! They run the place with a lot of heart and care, and made the place feel even better than it already does with the sweet cabins and direct lake access. Free kayaks and paddleboards and bikes! Lovely cabins! Great breakfast. Hammocks. Deck. Right on the water.

This is not on Pepos directly, but the neighbor two doors south down the lake was blaaaasting music, it was 2 guys (who maybe aren't even there permanently) listening to music at music festival volumes at random times. It wasn't constant and it would NOT prevent me from returning here--I loved it--BUT if there were any conversation that could happen with those people to contain their volume or listening times that would be a big help. One rec to future travelers: get most of your groceries in Bacalar or Chetumal, it's slim pickins in Xul-Ha.
