Maryfield House Hotel

We loved everything about this beautiful hotel that is more like living in your own manor house. We arrived bedraggled hours earlier than expected and were welcomed immediately with a beautiful breakfast and a superb room... spotless, stylish and the most magnificent water views. The owners and locals were generous with their local knowledge and we enjoyed superb hikes on Bressay and Noss to encounter an abundance of Puffins, gannets, skuas, otters etc Staying for several nights was the best! Will definitely be back. Thank you to all of the staff for your care.

What a lovely place to stay!! Staff were wonderful. Breakfasts were generous and very nice. Music was good! We enjoyed the ferry back and forth to Lerwick and the costs of this were reasonable.

Great location 7 min ferry from central Lerwick, runs frequently. One of the comfiest beds I've had on any trip to Shetland. Rooms are large, clean and have all amenities I needed. Breakfast was great. Staff were friendly, chatty and welcoming

WiFi was slow and it kept disconnecting. Constantly received a message pop up saying something about network issues and to reset router. Sorry I didn't mention this to staff we were too busy chatting about other things.

Clean, comfortable and friendly

Beautiful large and spacious room in a lovely old but well-presented house. A couple of minutes from the Lerwick/Bressay ferry, this property was very welcoming and comfortable. It has an excellent bar and restaurant offering superb meals and a very comfortable lounge room with a very extensive selection of whiskeys. The breakfast was substantial and enjoyable. It made for a very relaxing and enjoyable few days.

James and Nelly were generous and flexible hosts. They run a tight ship with a small team of excellent and friendly support staff. Nothing was too much trouble when we were there, and they were particularly accommodating about my Mum's various mobility aids, finding places to keep wheelchairs and walkers handy. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Food was exceptional, especially Nelly's Sunday roast.

Location is only accessed by ferry and on a small island so ok for walker but not for tourers. Careful using the car park, my car was bumped by a local who drove off.
