staff were helpful and friendly - meal we and our family had on the evening was very good along with the service.

Clean bedroom

Sticky tables in dining room - napkin was stuck down. Had run out of roast on Sunday. Door fell off the shower cubicle. Broken fixtures in bathroom.

Comfortable beds

I booked through booking . Com and they would not give me a room until they had received the funds. Yet you can ask for a room and pay the balance at the end of your visit like a normal hotel? I was very disappointed that I had reserved and paid for my room and I wasn’t able to access it until late at night. Fire alarms also kept coming on throughout my visit Also the receptionist told me I didn’t have a room booked by then reading out all the names of the current guests staying this night; this is a breach of gdrp

Quiet, clean, good value

Warm welcome, friendly staff, large room with views over the river, enjoyable evening dinner with drinks in the characterful bar and lounge.

Accommodation was a little tired, mattress too soft, only one ale on the four pumps available.
