We stayed at Brassey Hotel during our honeymoon trip to Canberra, and it turned out to be one of the most comfortable stops on our self-drive journey. The staff were very kind and helpful. Their friendliness did not feel formal or routine, but genuinely warm. As this was our honeymoon, we also felt that the hotel treated the occasion with care, which made the stay feel more personal and memorable. For travellers driving to Canberra, parking was a big plus. During our stay, parking was convenient and free, with parking areas both in front of and behind the hotel. It only took a very short walk to reach the main building, which was especially helpful with luggage. The atmosphere of the hotel is also quite special. It is not a brand-new modern hotel, but has a quiet, heritage-style charm. The building, corridors and rooms all have a country-house or manor-like feeling. I especially liked some of the metal details, such as the door handles and fittings, which gave the hotel a distinctive old-world character. This was one of the details I remembered most. The surroundings are very peaceful, with gardens and green spaces around the property. It feels calm and relaxed, while still being very convenient for visiting Canberra’s main landmarks. Parliament House, Old Parliament House and the Parliamentary Triangle area are all easy to reach from the hotel. If you are looking for a very new, modern design hotel, this may not be exactly that style. But if you appreciate a quiet environment, easy parking, friendly staff, and a heritage atmosphere close to Canberra’s parliamentary area, Brassey Hotel is a very good choice.
