Merchant House

Beautiful place, quiet location, set away from the Main Street.

Photos of the room and bathroom were not accurately represented. We were told on arrival that those rooms would not be available but there was no prior information or indication. Staff weren’t present at all times and so issues like water running out in the shower took really long to sort out.

So much space!

The room was huge and very clean with an amazing taste. There was a complementary bowel of fruits in the shared kitchen.

The owner insisted on collecting the payment a month and a half before the reservation date, and he was not reachable after collecting the money! The manager was on vacation during our stay, and the staff there didn't speak english, so there was no contact point. The bathtub was leaking, and the outside lighting was broken, and we had to wait for a day before getting it fixed.

Stylish and really quite place

The design of the house and the overall vibes are very nice. The room, bathroom and patio is very spacious. The swimming pool is very nice. I love the attention to detail when it comes to design elements. It's a very beautiful space.

We had high expectations for this stay and these fell short in a few ways. First, we checked in late at night, and there was only a security guard there who just gave us the key to the room and that was it. We had to get the wifi from one of the guests that we saw randomly walk by. We also didn't get any instructions for the breakfast, so I had to message the property on booking.com to figure it out. There is a communal kitchen where you can help yourself to coffee, fruit and yogurt. It took a few tries to figure out how to make a decent coffee with the French press on the first day. On the second day, the cleaning staff offered to make it for me, but there was no one there to guide us on the first day. One night while we were sleeping, we heard a big noise that scared us to death as we thought someone was on our patio. We screamed and ran outside, and there was no staff to reassure us. Turns out it was the hotel dog that was running around our room.

I absolutely loved Merchant House. I booked here last minute and from the minute I arrived I felt so welcome. The staff were just amazing, a real team vibe and that shines through. There was fresh fruit each morning (dream) & everything felt so comfortable. The walk into town is easy and it’s nice being away from the hustle and bustle. I would recommend staying here again without a doubt. Thanks team! X
