Location was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lack of parking No lift to upper floors. Rather expensive. Noisy dining rooms.

My main meal was very large and the vegetables were not well cooked my husband’s meal was lovely and well presented

The whole experience was excellent from start to finish - especially the staff who were very welcoming and accommodating throughout the stay. Room was lovely and warm, and the bed very comfortable. Ambience in the lounge/restaurant was great as well.

Our only criticism would have been the meal on the first night. The venison pie was a little dry and the tart was too large and soggy.

The location. We have stayed there before so knew if was of a high standard.

We booked this hotel for New Year’s Eve expecting there to be a roaring fire in the bar before our meal. The fire was not lit and when I asked a member of staff about this she said if would not be lit at this time (7.00pm) this resulted in us having to put our coats on and we eventually went to the bar next door for drinks even though we had a table booked in the hotel restaurant. This seems like a minor issue but everyone couldn’t believe how cold and uncomfortable it was in the bar.

Beautiful, historic building in the heart of Alnmouth with tonnes of character. Attentive and welcoming staff and a wonderful restaurant.
