Utopia Eco Hotel

Unieke ervaring midden in de jungle. Lekker kunnen zwemmen in de rivier en het eten was erg lekker. Je krijgt elke dag gewoon wat er op het menu staat, maar wij vonden het alle keren erg lekker! Met een tour naar Semuc Champey geweest en terug in de tubes - dat vonden wij erg leuk!! Heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel, zouden het echt aanraden!

Je bent in de jungle dus natuurlijk kun je insecten verwachten!

Exceptionally beautiful grounds and very remote location near the river.

Because of the remoteness it’s difficult to not eat at the hotel and the food if a bit expensive for the portions, the activities are also a bit pricey

The setting and decor is beautiful. Great to be able to swim n the river. Fantastic food and wonderful staff.

Cheap room mattresses need upgrading.

A very no frills place that is surrounded by beautiful nature. The check-in staff was very friendly snd helpful. I liked that excursions could be booked at the hotel. Also my transportation could be booked there as well. There is a vegetarian/vegan menu. If you want to have dinner Utopia Eco provides a family style dinner. It's whatever they make on that day. You can order a full ir half portion. I didn't have breakfast or dinner while I was there. Upon my departure, I did order a bagel with hummus. I ate it on my 11 hour ride to Panajachel. The bagel and hummus were very tasty. Drinking water is provided and a nice quiet atmosphere with beautiful nature doesn't hurt.

I understand why but I didn't like that I had to travel far to the bathroom. Lol. It wasn't all that bad but those night time or 3am bathroom runs are diabolical.

we loved the location! it is a remote quiet jungle area and its absolutely beautiful. the staff and owner are very nice people. food was delicious and everyone was very helpful. the sweet dogs made it even better. felt very nice to hang out at the place.

unfortunately the rooms are not nice. very small, bed is very worn down. they ve offered a room change but other room had lots of bugs next to the bed due to huge holes in the walls and all matresses we ve seen were in bad condition. price should be adjusted as bath rooms are also shared and cold.

Right by the river to go for a swim or hangout. It’s so peaceful and scenic. The staff are lovely. Did the semuc champey and tubing tour through them, got to tube right to the hotel (although water was extremely low). The food was good & free yoga

The bed was so old and uncomfortable and the pillows were paper thin. Please replace them. I would give 10 stars otherwise
