Sunrise Cottage

We loved our stay in this gorgeous villa, with our own pool, tucked away in the jungle! 5 minute walk to restaurants, close to Lion Rock. Awesome breakfast. Lovely friendly owner.

Perfect stay and exceptionally good value. A lovely cottage with its own private pool and small decking area where you get breakfast every morning. Accommodation was spotlessly clean, bathroom had a great shower and bed was super comfy. Owner was lovely and so friendly. Located down a track, about a 10 minute walk from restaurants. Can be dark at night but we had a torch and felt happy walking, alternatively owner happy to give you a lift in his tuk tuk. Ideal spot for walking both rocks. We loved our stay here (the best place we stayed during our 2 week holiday).

Everything was perfect.

Friendly and accommodating host who is happy to assist with arrangements at short notice. Generous breakfast served to the sound of nature, comfortable sized room with spacious bathroom. The small pool was nice for a quick dip after a day out exploring.

The only downside was the lack of hot water. Although everywhere else we stayed had hot water, I am aware that this is common across the island and doesn't detract from an otherwise idyllic setting.

We had an excellent experience staying here. We were welcomed by a kind, patient and extremely helpful host who arranged tours, tuk tuks, and inter city transportation for us. The room was spotless and the property itself was peaceful, quiet, and tucked away in a beautiful garden. The included breakfast in the morning was delicious and generous. I would highly recommend this place to anyone planning a stay in the area.

The owner was so lovely and the breakfast was fantastic!!

Amit was a very friendly host. He made sure we had everything we needed. The room was very clean, the location is 5 min walk to restaurants on the main road. Tucked away in a green oasis and the icing on the cake is the private pool. It is perfect for sore muscles after a hike up Lion Rock. Lovely breakfast of eggs, fruit and toast provided. Shower had hot water, bed was large and comfy and the a/c worked well. Having the ceiling fan as an option too. Very peaceful place to rest.

There was not 1 thing that we could complain about. The host and his family were amazing. We were welcomed with big smiles and great energy. The villa was spacious, clean and the AC worked a treat. The private pool was a great temperature and we spent hours in it cooling off. Breakfast was served on our private patio each morning, consisting of Toast, Eggs, Fruit and hot pot of Tea or Coffee. Great location to restaurants and mini marts, as well as Sigiriya Rock. You feel like your living amongst the locals as your in the jungle.
