Was very run down needed a good updating in the rooms

Food was very good

No towels in the room. A kettle and Cup, but nothing else ? Staff weren't good. I rang to check in late and book a table for an evening meal. The girl who answered the phone. Said she was too busy to do this. And would call me back. But nobody called me back.

Location

The room was very dated, smelled of smoke and we found a cigarette butt on the windowsill. For 120 pound per night this is not value for money, i was expecting en suit also for this price. Bar closed early too

Loved staying here. Staff super friendly and room fine in a stunning rural village with a great shop. Picturesque walks/runs around castle, along river and over the old bridge and beyond. Breakfast is 5 star! Booked this stay on the strength of last year's stay :-) Had a bit of a heart to heart with one member of staff on leaving, much appreciated.

Room TV rather dated and some channels didn't work? This is a busy pub/restaurant so a certain amount of noise to be expected. window above door not curtained so light came in from corridor.

Cheap and very cheerful.

Room wasn't en suite but I knew this so it's ok. Did a third night in a double room with en suite and that was better. And nearly as cheap.

Well cooked served by friendly folk. I think we were only offered full English but it was perfectly acceptable.

Iwould have been helpful if there had been somewhere to sit other than the bar.
