Sundara by Mosvold

Excellent secluded paradise! Small place (8 rooms only), empty beach with no neighbors - just the Sun, Sea and relax. Great hospitality of Hassan and the Team. Food and cocktails are good (add $50-60 per 2 persons per day). We stayed in Garden Villa - and it was good choice as it has own small garden. Transfer to/from Colombo airport is 2 hours ($125 each way) and very comfortable.

Full sized mirror would be quite useful in the rooms Also, may be it is a good idea to introduce Adult only (no kids) concept. The territory is small and it will create more tranquil atmosphere.

THE LOCATION WAS FANTASTIC, WEST FACING SO LOVELY SUNSETS. YOU COULD WALK FOR SEVERAL MILES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS ON THE BEACH WHICH WAS PERFECT. HOTEL LAYOUT WAS VERY GOOD. WE COULD HAVE BREAKFAST ON OUR OWN TERRACE IF WE WANTED. STAFF WERE ALL VERY FRIENDLY AND KEEN TO HELP. FOOD ON THE WHOLE WAS VERY GOOD BUT THE MENU DID NOT CHANGE.

PILLOWS WERE FOAM AND NO ALTERNATIVE. ONLY ONE MIRROR IN BATHROOM AND THAT WAS IN TERRIBLE LIGHT SO IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT MAKE UP ON ETC. HAD TO ASK FOR DRESSING GOWNS AND HANGERS. STAFF WERE LOVELY BUT RATHER SLOW AND YOU MIGHT WAIT AGES FOR YOUR FIRST COURSE BUT THE SECOND ONE WOULD ARRIVE BEFORE YOU HAD FINISHED THE FIRST. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THERE WERE ONLY 2 WHITE WINES AVAILABLE AND ONE RED.

This hotel is heavenly. It is right on the most perfect beach and surrounded by trees and the occasional wild life. The rooms are large, luxurious and have large private gardens. The staff are well trained with the aim of providing a perfect holiday experience. This was the last of six hotels that we stayed at across Sri Lanka and was by far the best. The chef produced exceptional dishes and reasonably priced. We felt very cared for at Sundara. Thank you.

We’ve been spoiled from the first minute by the super friendly staff. Private beach is amazing. Big, stylish rooms. Great food.
