The waiters are really nice, we had a good conversation.

We arrived day time with my family after three weeks in Sri Lanka. We travelled around the cost, only good people and lovely room during our journey. What a wonderful country. When we called Sundara in the morning as we wanted something not far from Colombo airport and by the beach, they strangely said they were full but on booking but they had two room via booking so we booked it. The manager and director received us, I already felt less charm and hospitality than usual which I didn’t mind at the beginning. We took our room, sunset came, we had a swim all good yet. Night time we were pretty tired, we went in bed early. Strange feeling started in the room, usually we laugh a lot but we were cold. My wife in the morning said she was really not comfortables all night and felt spirit. It’s the first time in five years she’s telling me this. I understood her feeling but I was too tired that night. We change the second night to the villa suite because they had some weeding guest coming in the smaller room. But at night, the place felt haunted, bad vibration way stronger the second night. This feeling of ghost or presence happened to me twice only, one time in France in an old chateaux and in Bali . I don’t specially believe in ghost or spirit but when you feel it, it surely something. For exemples that second night we put baby for sleep early like usually but 1hr after he started to cry intensely while he was sleeping. So strange for him to do that. It was really uncomfortable, the athmosphere is not clean at all on this proprety. I presume the two cementery behind the villa is part of the strange vibration. We couldn’t stay in the room anymore the second night, we left our stuff around 11pm and book an other hotel somewhere not too far. It was random but energy was like everywhere else we been. Normal. The two man, the manager and director didn’t make any effort, we had to paid the full price for two nights even we checked out the 1st day.

We had the most wonderful stay at Sundara over new year. The resort is on a stunning beach that is so so peaceful. Most of the time we had the beach to ourselves as there are no other hotels on the stretch of beach. The pool is great and the food was excellent. Special thank you to the sundara team for making New Year’s Eve such a special evening. we will for sure be coming back! It is also very much worth doing the river cruise that is near by - breathtaking scenery and highlight of the trip

The Hotel was exactly as it said on their website and on Booking.com It is set on a beautiful beach where you can see local fishermen bringing in their haul. The management and staff are absolutely excellent and can't do enough to enable you to have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Hard to pick any single person out but we must give a Special mention to the brilliant Chef and the amazing, fantastic food that he produces. it really is out of this world.

Nothing really but if we are Being really picky the beds are alittle on the firm side so it would be a great idea to have some mattress toppers available for guests who prefer a softer bed

Peaceful, private retreat in nature right on the beach. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.
