Houndgate Townhouse

Not too impressed with evening meal or breakfast. Had small fish and chips and the chips were obviously REHEATED and there was very little FISH in the FISH at a guess about 3 or 4 ounces peas nice. Breakfast very very oily I had a poached eggs with mushrooms but they were lathered in cheap olive oil. Room nice but very very small

Stayed the night in our favourite place, holds a very special place in our heart. The food, staff and room was amazing as always.

The location was right in the centre of town. The room was comfortable and clean with an amazing shower. The breakfast and dinners were exceptional!

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Noise at night

What a fab place to stay, clean, lovely bedding and towels. Great storage for clothes too. Amazing food, great service and highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious and the choice was plentiful. Dinner was delicious and the service stayed nice and relaxed given how busy they were with bookings. The room was very comfortable and spacious for a couple. I would happily stay here again for a personal trip only ask for a room at the front of the hotel or on the top floor. There is a lift for any guests who need it.

The only thing I would say is that my room overlooked the roof of the kitchen and it was occasionally noisy in the evening from a vent. No other noise. The view out of the window looked on to the multi storey car park and so I kept my curtains shut the whole time I was there to not feel overlooked while changing before it got dark. But this was a functional stay for me, so I wasn't bothered.

Very comfy standard double room and excellent food. Stayed by myself for one night on business and needed the restful and relaxing atmosphere the whole place had even at dinner which was busy with bookings. The food is absolutely excellent so would recommend for just a meal out and the breakfast options were plentiful.
