The Sanctuary Residence

This hotel formerly was called Mother Home Boutique Hotel. I went there 6 years ago and had a perfectly wonderful experience, both at the hotel and its restaurant, and at the Angkor Archaeological Park. Now it has a new name and is under new management, and we recommend that you do NOT stay there. We prepaid online, but they tried to double-charge us, asking for US$ cash when we checked out. We paid for a large room, but were given a small room. They do not accept bank cards. They cannot break a US$100 bill. The elevator was either out of service or malfunctioning at times, and the dark stairwell was not lit. The restaurant now only serves a substandard breakfast buffet -- no lunch, no dinner. Go somewhere else, but keep in mind also that the archaeological park is not what it once was. Many sites are no longer fully accessible, and many structures are now roped off, preventing close inspection. I regret that I returned to Siem Reap.

Great place good location, gym was good and had two pools. One was even warm enough to swim at night. Staff every helpful and even gave us a xmas present when leaving

no hot water. we were told no other room available. when we asked to speak to the Mgr, the front desk person was very rude. suddenly there were other rooms available. and then he said he had not switched on the hot water switch. wasted the whole nite on this.
