Rockside Cabanas Hotel

The staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful The location was lovely with the calm bay close by and the turtles. Walkable to the main beach area of Unawatuna Staff could make happen any visit to any area from here and would take care of that for you Relaxing and quiet

Room was not available at check in time of 2pm. We got there early and had to sit and wait until after 3pm. Room was not always serviced. Only serviced once in our 5 night stay as we did not have a sign in our room to say please service the room and even though this was mentioned several times and thought it was understood it still never got serviced. Housekeeping was unorganised and the outside areas were not cleaned as they should be in the grounds and gardens

Beach front and gardens are nice and well kept, close to turtle beach so you can get there before the crowds - many of the staff were very helpful and kind.

I had no hot water for my stay, the duty manager lied about fixing it and offered no compensation, other than one ‘free breakfast’, and was generally very unhelpful. I was bullied into paying on arrival (as opposed at the end of my stay and I feel it’s because the manager knew I would complain about the water, but wouldn’t provide a refund. The ground staff woke me up at 7am every day, sweeping and knocking around the cabana. The food and drinks are nice but VERY over priced. The cabana’s are nice, but there are no curtains on the (albeit very small) windows. The noise from the road can be is very loud - although the sea is usually louder. I was very disappointed with my very expensive stay and wouldn’t recommend this place - there are other hotels which offer better value.

Always enough lying chairs, beautiful garden with nice little pool. GM helps on any issue.

Rocky stones to the Sea but nice lagoon very near. Backside right at the busy main road but no noise in the room except for thr railway sometimes

Nothing, it’s a shame the beach is receding but there is nothing the hotel can do about that. Location is stunning

No sand by hotel - rocks, but 30 meters walk on stones you can reach sandy beach where always huge turtles swim!

Beautiful garden setting with outstanding ocean views, adjacent to excellent beach. The restaurant caters to western and south Asian preferences. Delicious food in large quantities! The Sri Lankan breakfasts were a particularly delightful experience. The staff - from cleaners and groundskeepers to cooks and restaurant staff to management all pleasant, helpful, and kind. I was traveling alone and felt very safe and well looked-after!

There has been some erosion of the former sandy beach on the property, which is unfortunate but may be temporary. One can still walk on the rocks through shallow water to get to the beach.

Die Aussicht auf die Felsen und das Meer waren super. Die Deluxe Cabana und das Deluxe Doppelzimmer waren groß und haben einen großartigen Blick aufs Meer geboten. Das Personal, vorallem der Chef im Restaurant, hat uns alle Wünsche erfüllt.

Es gab keinen direkten Strand an der Unterkunft, man musste ein paar Meter zum nächsten Strand laufen

The beach nearby was so beautiful and calm. Also experienced turtles wandering around which was totally unexpected for us. We enjoyed a lot.

The bathroom sink had an issue with water draining in Cabana No. 3. Other than that, was okay
