Kirkconnel Hall Hotel

Staff were delightful. Friendly, happy and very helpful. Food was excellent and there was plenty of it and a very good variety. It was very clean and our needs or requests were catered for each day with no problems. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty storage. The hotel was quirky and interesting in its decor and lay out and gave us a different, but good experience of a hotel compared to other hotels we have been in. Worth a visit!

The Wi-Fi was poor. We had to go out onto the stairwell each time we wanted to connect and it disconnected when not being used and then we had to go out to the stairwell again to reconnect. The shower was not brilliant and difficult to use the controls. It was within a bath and we are elderly and found it hazardous trying to get in and out of the bath especially as there was no hand grip to help us and no non slip bath mat to stop us slipping on the wet floor of the bath. I would suggest this is a safety issue!

Quirky hotel waiting easy reach of motorways and local towns. Very friendly owners who looked after us really well. Although breakfast was continental ,it was more than adequate and really nice. Room was very comfortable and decorated very nicely although a little dated. This all helped maintain the charm of an old hall with history.
