Lake Wave Hotel

The location is beautiful, and Milan is a very warm and friendly host. He had really good recommendations for activities, without being pushy. We did a tour to Mihintale with a friend of Milan, which was magical, for a very fair price. We could also rent bicycles to cycle to the temples. We had a great time here. The room was very neat, the bathroom just renovated. The breakfast made by his mother was also very tasty!

As two young women we felt very comfortable with this stay. Everybody was of great help, we were able to secure good deals through their recommendations with local drivers/tours, and the best of all was the food. All cooked fresh and best we had in the country so far. The stay gas a beautiful garden by a lake, rooms are basic but clean and all you need. Would recommend this stay to anyone.

Milan and his mother, Sunanda, run a fabulous small hotel! It is situated right on the lake and perfect for an early morning stroll or even darting off to sample the shops. Our room was very comfortable with efficient AC. Sunanda is a great cook and effortlessly rustled a delicious meal up evern with our late arrival. Milan arranged a great guide for our exploration of the Sacred City.

The owner was friendly and helpful. He organized trips to Mihintale Rock and Wilpattu National Park for us. If you are hungry, just tell him, and his mother will cook delicious and traditional food for you. We had a good time at this place and would definitely recommend staying there.

The only downside is the relatively high prices. The owner provided a final bill at the end that listed all the meals and services we had booked. The prices were quite steep. For instance, we paid 7,500 RP for bicycles we rented for a day and around 1,000 RP for a beer. So better keep an eye on the costs throughout your stay.

We loved the quiet and green garden, the hammocks and the amazing food! The host Milan was super helpful and taking very good care of us. A good option for low-cost accommodation.

Milan is fantastic, both as host and as a person. We had nice evenings and conversations together, he cooked delicious food for us, he is super helpful and flexible. But most importantly, he is a wonderful person. The room is clean and cozy. He recently renovated all bathrooms, so they are very clean and modern. We would love to come back one day. Miss you Milan! Thanks a lot for our time together :) we would 200% recommend this place!
